Casio Computer Co., Ltd. and The Sandbox have released their new collaborative game, \u201cG-SHOCK CITY,\u201d on Tuesday, September 24 (JST). This exciting project brings the iconic worldview of Casio\u2019s globally renowned G-SHOCK brand into the metaverse, offering fans an entirely new way to experience its toughness and creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahead of the launch, a press event was held in Tokyo on August 28. The event generated great excitement as members of the media were introduced to the game and its concept.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event welcomed Kikuo Ibe, the father of G-SHOCK and inspiration for an in-game character, as well as Sebastien Borget, COO of The Sandbox. They shared the story behind the collaboration and discussed G-SHOCK\u2019s bold steps into the Web3 space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attendees were treated to an exclusive preview of \u201cG-SHOCK CITY,\u201d including live demonstrations and influencer-led play sessions. Journalists also had the chance to try the game for themselves. Available for free within The Sandbox, the game immerses players in the history and innovation that have made G-SHOCK a global icon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To mark the collaboration, Casio has released the \u201cG-SHOCK Droid Collection\u201d\u2014robot-style avatars modeled after iconic G-SHOCK watches including the DW-5600, DW-6900, GA-110, GA-2100, and a special oversized model, the GA-V01. Each avatar features a unique design, highlighting the creative possibilities of NFTs.
