Pacific Meta, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shota Iwasaki; hereinafter “the Company”) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Chainlink Labs, one of the primary contributing developers of Chainlink, the industry-standard oracle platform, and has adopted Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as its preferred interoperability solution. As Japan’s trusted gateway for onchain finance and AI, the Company has partnered with leading Japanese enterprises across telecommunications, consumer electronics, and digital advertising to accelerate the adoption of institutional tokenized finance, identity, and compliance infrastructure through the Chainlink platform.
As a part of this strategic partnership, Pacific Meta has listed Chainlink’s Automated Compliance Engine (ACE) on its marketplace, with more services to come, enabling Japanese financial institutions and enterprises to leverage its compliance framework in institutional tokenized asset deployments.
Why Japan, Why Now
Chainlink is the industry-standard oracle platform bringing the capital markets onchain and the market leader powering the majority of decentralized finance (DeFi). The Chainlink stack provides the essential data, interoperability, compliance, and privacy standards needed to power advanced blockchain use cases for institutional tokenized assets, lending, payments, stablecoins, and more. Since inventing decentralized oracle networks, Chainlink has enabled tens of trillions in transaction value and now secures the vast majority of DeFi.
Guided by its mission “To Create the Standard for Blockchain from Japan,” the Company has supported more than 300 cumulative group projects across over 41 countries since its founding, helping global blockchain products succeed in the Japanese market legally, commercially, and culturally. This partnership extends that track record by connecting the Chainlink platform’s industry-standard data, interoperability, compliance, and privacy infrastructure with Japanese financial institutions and enterprises.
Why Pacific Meta Selected Chainlink CCIP.
Cross-chain infrastructure is one of the most consequential security decisions for any organization deploying assets or applications across multiple blockchain networks.
Cross-chain exploits have resulted in more than $3 billion in losses, which has reinforced the need to evaluate interoperability infrastructure based not only on network reach and ease of integration, but also on decentralization, built-in safeguards, operational resilience, and issuer control.
The table below summarizes the key security and architectural principles Pacific Meta applied in evaluating cross-chain interoperability infrastructure.
| Chainlink CCIP | Common limitations of alternative approaches | |
| Decentralization | • Every lane is verified by default by a network of 16 independent node operators • Publicly documented security model that can be clearly communicated to end-users | • Often centralized by default, with security depending on a small validator set or vendor-defined configurations • Minimum security guarantees are not always defined, making them difficult for users to evaluate and trust |
| Safeguards | • Native support for rate-limiting configurable on a per chain lane basis • Issuer retains governance oversight, minting limits, and emergency-response controls | • Rate limiting is often an optional add-on requiring custom implementation by the asset issuer • Risk controls such as verifier selection are often left entirely to the asset issuer |
| Sovereignty | • No CCIP-specific logic required to be within token contract deployments • Reduces structural vendor lock-in risk, preserving flexibility for future upgrades | • Couples assets to proprietary bridging infrastructure and standards • Technical vendor lock-in can make future migration to alternative solutions more complex |
Key Areas of the Strategic Partnership
- Market development. Advance institutional tokenization adoption through joint thought leadership and industry engagement.
- Business development. Enable institutional deployments across asset tokenization, digital identity, and automated compliance.
- Onchain identity and trust infrastructure. Unlock onchain identity and compliance solutions through technical innovation.
Future Outlook
Under this strategic partnership, Pacific Meta and Chainlink will focus on initiatives to increase tokenized asset and onchain identity and compliance infrastructure adoption among Japanese financial institutions.
As a bridge between world-class technologies and Japanese enterprises, Pacific Meta will support the domestic adoption of Chainlink’s global-standard onchain infrastructure in a form suited to Japan’s regulatory environment and business practices—building an environment in which Japanese financial institutions and enterprises adopt blockchain with confidence, and contributing to the continued advancement of Japan’s financial infrastructure.
Comment from Andy Hung, Head of Alliance, Pacific Meta, Inc.
“Japanese institutions are moving quickly toward tokenized finance, but they need infrastructure they can trust and compliance frameworks that meet local regulatory expectations. This strategic partnership enables us to bring Chainlink’s oracle and interoperability standards already adopted by the world’s largest financial institutions to Japanese enterprises, in a form that works within Japan’s legal and business context,” said Andy Hung, Head of Alliance, Pacific Meta, Inc.
Comment from Niki Ariyasinghe, Vice President of APAC & ME Sales at Chainlink Labs
“Financial institutions around the world are adopting onchain finance, but widespread adoption depends on secure infrastructure that unlocks tokenized assets at scale. We’re excited to enter into a strategic partnership with Pacific Meta to unlock increased onchain finance adoption in Japan and across the region,” said Niki Ariyasinghe, Vice President of APAC & ME Sales, Chainlink Labs.
