About Sui

Here’s an introduction on the Sui team that hosted this event.

Sui Network is a Layer 1 blockchain launched by Mysten Labs last May. The native token SUI currently has a market capitalization of over 1.79 billion dollars.

Mysten Labs was founded in 2021 by lead engineers from Meta (formerly Facebook). Sui Network uses “Sui Move,” Mysten Lab’s main programming language that was developed from the Move language. The blockchain network is characterized by significantly faster transactions than major chains such as Ethereum and Solana.

Just one year after its launch, it entered the top 10 in DeFi TVL (Total Value Locked) and is still attracting a lot of attention.

Venue Atmosphere

The event kicked off at 6pm, with guests and participants visiting Pacific Meta’s new office “Pacific Hub.” One after another, the venue filled out to 150 people! It was a huge success.

The event began with Pacific Meta’s representative director Shota Iwasaki giving a speech to all the guests.

Mr. Ken Kashiwagi, Japan Partnership/BD Lead of Sui & MystenLabs team, which hosted this event, took the stage.

We were able to deepen our understanding of Sui Chain’s features such as:

Transaction speed
Low gas costs
“Object-centric model” that allows you to create “relationships” between objects.

GREE & Misten Labs Engineer Talk Session

After that, a talk session began with Mr. Taki, Senior Solution Engineer from Sui & Misten Labs, and Mr. Murata from Crypto BD from GREE Inc.

During the talk session was the announcement of the launch of the newest blockchain game — “Crypto Catch! Fishing★Star!” developed by GREE Inc. & Sui Chain.

Elixir

Afterwards, Elixir COO Mr. Tim Wang took the stage.

Elixir is a protocol that provides liquidity to DEX and assists in trading at appropriate prices and appropriate spreads.

He explained the details of the project, starting with technical DEX stories!

STUDIO STOP

Lastly, Mr. Brian Li, CTO & Co founder from STUDIO MIRAI, took the stage.

STUDIO MIRAI is a development research studio that conducts NFT projects on Sui.

He passionately talked about “The reasons it’s a good idea to issue NFTs with Sui,” talking about the development of the first PFP project “Tamashi,”

After the talk session, networking time began.

The event was a great success, with more than 150 participants enjoying sushi & sake and engaging in conversation.

The first MeetUp event at Pacific Hub ended with great success, demonstrating that Sui Foundation attracts very high attention within the industry.
